Nozomi Aquatic Center

I have two kids. My 43 inch tall 5 year old needed a wristband, but my 52 inch 6.5 year old didn't. Children with a wristband need to stay within arms length of their grownups at all time. This makes no sense. Someone's ability to swim has nothing to do with their age and/or height. Both of my children know how to swim. Our first time here and we arrived at 2:55pm . We didn't know that our children needed to pass a swim test in order to use the diving boards until about 3:15pm. They only do the swim test on the hour, so my kids had to wait until 4pm to do the swim test (which then started at 4:07pm). My children finally passed, but the manager confirmed I still needed to be within arms length of my 5 year old at all times... While we waited for the swim test we got yelled at multiple times because I wasn't within arms length of my 5 year old...I was generally 10ft or less away from her because I couldn't just abandon my other child. I understand water safety is a very serious issue and parents need stay responsible for their children even when there are 7+ lifeguards around, but the rules at this place are ridiculous and make it not fun for everyone involved. Don't come here if

I am disappointed with our experience at this city pool. My son was treated harshly and unnecessarily by lifeguards who seemed more focused on yelling than calmly enforcing rules. At one point, my son was helping his little brother on the slide. As he was already walking away, a lifeguard yelled at him that he was too tall and needed to get down. He was not trying to play on the slide; he was simply helping his younger brother and leaving the area. Later, he was also told to “hurry up” while walking over to view a mandatory drowning drill, which felt unnecessary and intimidating. What made the experience more frustrating was that other pool goers were splashing my children, even though splashing is not allowed, and the lifeguards ignored that behavior. It felt like my children were being singled out for minor or misunderstood actions while other rule violations were overlooked. I understand that lifeguards have an important job and safety rules matter, but there is a difference between enforcing rules and being harsh with children. A calmer, more respectful approach would have made a big difference. Families should feel safe and welcome at a city pool, not like their children ar

Good for the price and nice place to cool off. Not the cleanest place and very strict rules but they must have a reason it's like that

Nozomi Aquatic Center was built, in Chandler, AZ, in 1999 and we first visited this water park in 2023. This park has swimming lanes, a slide and smaller splash park, and a diving pool. This is where we've visited, as my boys have participated in "Learn to Dive" lessons via the Chandler Diving Club, at the Nozomi Aquatic Center on Saturday mornings. I haven't been here when it's busy, but we do like this pool and the helpful staff!

Took my family here over the weekend. This spot was perfect for my kids and they had a lot of fun. The only thing I would recommend is that they should add more shaded spots for people to sit. Most of the spots were in the direct sunlight and it’s not ideal at all for families.
